Monday, October 22 or 29, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost: $10/child; includes all stations and some take home activities); $5/adult. Large and small groups, as well as individuals, are welcomed. Bring a lunch and picnic on the grounds if you wish. Call for required reservations by October 19 for the program on October 22; reserve by October 26 for the program on October 29.
Homeschoolers will visit stations focusing on fall harvest activities, games, outbuilding tours, crafts (making corn husk dolls and candle dipping). Because October is Archaeological month, students will learn and use the methods and techniques used by archaeologists. These hands-on fun and learning activities are designed to enrich the understanding of late 18th century life in Fairfax County.
