D.C. United Soccer Geography is a free download that contains lesson plans, desk maps, and background information about Major League Soccer. These reproducible materials are developed for grades four through eight. They contain a teacher’s guide, answer key, reference pages, and extra-credit activities. Materials cover social studies curriculum, following the five themes of geography. Lesson plans feature both U.S. and world geography, ranging from Washington, D.C. and numerous U.S. cities, to Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia and Serbia, Honduras, and Ghana. There are sports math lessons too.
Teachers (including homeschool parents) can see updates and new information at the website all year; register at the first link to get updates and special offers by e-mail. Register for this event and download the soccer packet at the second link.
