ENTHUSIASTIC ENDORSEMENTS FOR FILM CAMP BY DR. JAY WILE & DR. JEFF MYERS
In March of 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri, dozens of teenagers sat spellbound while listening to two speakers at the annual homeschool conference. As Crystal Creek Media representatives shared the trials and triumphs of filmmaking on their latest production, CREED OF GOLD, children and teens alike furiously took notes in the hopes that one day they too could make movies. Almost every child dreams of being an actor or actress at some point in his or her life; yet, so few from the Christian community ever enter the film world. Why? Not because the young people lose interest, but because there is limited opportunity to learn.
This convention season Crystal Creek Media will be offering a film camp specifically designed to introduce teenagers to the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully enter the film industry. Already, Film Camp has received glowing endorsements from homeschool leaders such as Dr. Jeff Myers and Dr. Jay Wile. President of Summit Ministries, a ministry dedicated to raising up young leaders with a solidly Christian worldview, Dr. Jeff Myers wrote:
“I’ve read over the materials about this new film camp and thought, ‘What a fantastic idea!’ My wife, Danielle, and I have known the Knudsens for more than 15 years and have been so pleased to see them exercising their passion for the things of Christ by engaging the culture of film-making. I fully expect that this film camp will provide a high-energy, creative way for homeschool students to learn discernment, creativity, and hard work while focusing on how to share their own stories as part of God’s Great Story.”
Along with author and speaker Dr. Myers, Film Camp is also endorsed by Dr. Jay Wile, another name widely recognized as a leader in the Christian homeschool community. Perhaps best known as author and instructor for Apologia’s science curriculum, Dr. Jay Wile is also a published playwright and a veteran of the stage. During the summer of 2010, Dr. Jay played a leading role in CREED OF GOLD. Another strong endorser of Film Camp, Dr. Jay Wile expressed his approval of Crystal Creek Media:
“I had the privilege of working with Daniel Knudsen and Crystal Creek Media as an actor in the film Creed of Gold. The production was organized, well run, and quite a lot of fun. If you want to learn about film making, I would encourage you to learn from this group!”
Along with endorsements from Dr. Jeff Myers and Dr. Jay Wile, Film Camp is also generating excitement across the United States as homeschooling families plan to attend a presentation of Film Camp at their local homeschool convention.
Note: Film Camp will be coming to the 2012 convention! Watch for details soon.
