Continuing Education Departments are a great resource at many universities. Often the cost is less for these programs, and there are fewer residency or attendance requirements. (There may be age limitations.)

Indiana University School of Continuing Studies initiated Indiana University High School (IUHS), a program that enables students to earn a high school diploma entirely at a distance. Most courses are print-based, some use the Internet and World Wide Web, audiotapes or videotapes, CD-ROMs or other technologies.

PSAT/NMST are only offered once a year at high schools, usually in October. Registration is in September. This test allows students and parents to see if other entrance exams are necessary or advisable.

Summit Ministries Offer two-week leadership training course, teaching students to recognize the different world views they will encounter in college, literature, and the world in general.
