Test if Beginning Mid Year

Q. If I begin homeschooling in January, will I be required to test and send in the results by August 1?

A. Yes, if you filed a Notice of Intent and begin homeschooling any time during the school year—even as late as April or May—you are required to submit test or evaluation  results by August 1. Your child must score in or above the fourth stanine (23 percentile or higher) on a standardized achievement test, or he must show an adequate level of progress (as determined by the superintendent) if an independent evaluation is submitted
